Youth Conference February 2-3, 2018

Come join us for an amazing youth conference that will help us Peace in Christ through service and spiritual messages.
The youth conference will be in Woodland Park and Camp Alexander. Colorado Springs youth will be staying the night with host families. Youth 14 and older (and their friends!) are invited. More details to follow, so check back often!

- Registration: Please contact your ward YM & YW Leaders to register. Space will be provided at the chapel Friday to stow your gear and at Camp Alexander during the day on Saturday.

- Friday: All youth arrive at the Woodland Park Church Building at 6:00 p.m. Check in from 6:00-6:15 (youth will be put in a designated room). Opening exercises & group sign up are from 6:15-6:30. The four sessions will then start at 6:30. Each session has separate lessons all focused on the theme. One of the sessions will be dinner. Here are the times of each session:
Session 1: 6:30-7:00
Session 2: 7:00-7:30
Session 3: 7:30-8:00
Session 4: 8:00-8:30 - The Fireside will have three parts. We will start with a musical number around 8:30. After the musical number Elise will be our youth speaker. President Fredrickson will close our night. Here are the approximate times:
- Special Musical Number: 8:30-8:35
- Youth Speaker (Elise): 8:35-8:40
- President Fredrickson's Remarks: 8:40-9:00
- From 9:00-9:30 YW will be assigned drivers to members homes. During this time YM will clean up the building.
- YM will then head to lodges for the night.
- Lights out will be at 10:30 pm

What to Expect:
Camp Alexander is located in the beautiful Elevenmile Canyon in the Pike National Forest approximately 45 miles west of Colorado Springs, and two miles south of Lake George, in Park County, Colorado. Camp Alexander is between 8200 and 8600 feet elevation.
**Please note: The physical address is not computable with Google Maps or any GPS units as it is not a true postal address. You can use Lake George city as a reference point and then follow the directions below.
Directions to Camp Alexander from Colorado Springs, CO
Take Highway 24 west to the town of Lake George. Entering the town of Lake George, take the first left onto County Road 96. Look for Starkys General Store and turn South just before the store. (If you cross the river, you have gone too far.)
Follow County Road 96 (about 1 mile) to the 11-Mile Canyon Entrance. Turn right into 11-Mile Canyon and proceed to the Forest Ranger Station. Tell the gate attendant that you are heading to Camp Alexander, as entry fee is free.
Follow 11-Mile Canyon past Riverside Campground about 2 miles (watch for oncoming traffic!). Look for the Camp Entrance on the left. Follow the road to the parking lot where a staff guide will greet you and take you to your campsite.

- 9am-9:45am Breakfast at Camp Alexander, West Elks dining hall.
- 10am - 11:45am Service Project at Camp Alexander - cutting, removal and stacking of willows near new entrance to Camp A. See packing list for appropriate winter dress for Saturday and for recommended tools, etc.
- 12-12:45pm Lunch, West Elks dining hall.
- 1pm -3pm Winter Activities: making snowmen, sledding (bring sleds, no discs), snow forts and huts, "hockey" on the lake, snowball tossing games, etc. If no snow, bring table games, cards, etc to play in the dining hall.
- Dismissal - 3:30 pm after cleanup.
