Principles and Guidelines for Scouting through 2019
In the recent statement regarding the future worldwide youth program, the First Presidency emphasized that "the intention of the Church is to remain a fully engaged partner in Scouting for boys and young men ages 8–13. We encourage all youth, families, and leaders to continue their active participation and financial support of Scouting until December 31, 2019. We honor Scouting organizations for their continued goal to develop character and instill values in youth."

We encourage you to continue to plan and implement meaningful Scouting activities with your boys and young men. Such experiences as regular camping, earning merit badges, and leadership opportunities play an important part in supporting the purposes of the Aaronic Priesthood.
Thank you for your leadership at this important time. We appreciate you and all that you do to strengthen the boys and young men you serve.
Warm Regards,
